The story Eleven by Sandra Cisneros, it tells the truth about birthdays and growing up.  Honestly, I don’t think that many people feel that they are the age they are right now, and it takes time to feel like you are maturing. Just like Rachel which is the main character and I think is the most I liked, experiences this. On her eleventh birthday she does not feel eleven, but ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, and so on, she feels that she is younger, and says that it takes time to feel like you are eleven. My least favorite character is Mrs. Price, just because I had a teacher like that once, and I can honestly say I know what is like to be embarrassed in front of the whole class, so I can say when the Mrs. Price made Rachel put on the old sweater that wasn’t actually hers, and made her cry, is when I felt more empathetic with the main character.  I really like this story because I think that everybody goes through what Rachel went trough, and I don’t think it stops, because I’m twenty three years old and I feel like I’m still twenty two, and it happens every year.

I answered the same way. I've never had a teacher treat me like Mrs. Price treated Rachel, but I've seen it happen to some of my close friends, so I understand this situation. I think it happens way too often.

You are so right about aging ...we don't feel the age we have in fact Rachel is right when she says that when someone asks your age normally we tend to say the previous age we had... And about the teacher, that too is also true, unfortunately there's seems to be no stop to this kind of treatment :\

I completely agree with you, and my writing about this short story starts the same, stating that one does not feel different when you turn older.

Agreed, Mrs. Price is probably everyones most hated character in the story. And I can also relate, Im 23 and most days I wonder what 'real adults' act like.

I think we both have the same idea on this story. It's tough being a kid and most of us probably expereinced somethine similar to what rachel went through.

I'm 24 years old and I don't feel that age,not a single bit. For me it seems so big, so adult and I don't feel like that, at all! I agree with you about Mrs. Price, she could have work out that situation different or being more considerate. It's hard being a student and respecting the teacher, even when she is mistreating you.
